Service Description
We'll be exploring a number of different art techniques such as clay wheel throwing, clay sculpting, pottery painting, canvas painting, UV canvas splatter painting & traditional canvas painting. Wheel throwing with clay: Participants will be taught to make a bowl, we'll then customize it to their liking (wavy patterned edge, carving, additional clay embellishments ) Sculpting with clay: They'll be taught the basics with sculpting with clay. We'll do one focused step by step project that vary per week but some examples are fairy house boxes, snail planter, mini mugs and turtle boxe. They'll then have the opportunity to create whatever they would like with a certain amount of clay using the steps taught. Pottery painting: Campers will not only get to paint their own custom clay items but they'll also get to select from a pre casted pottery piece selection. All pieces are food safe and microwaveable including the clay creations. Canvas painting: Canvas art includes being taught a technique or focal point where the kids create their own take using what they're taught. That means it is not a paint along, we believe that art should be interpreted individually instead of structured to make it look a certain way. This allows the kids to have creative freedom, less pressure/anxiety and allows them to think and plan. All campers must be 7+ years old to complete these projects, some will be completed over the course of a few days. Younger painters are welcome to attend (no younger than 5 years old) but they must accompanied by an older sibling that can assist them through each activity and must have patience working on pieces over sometime. We give all of our painters a good amount of equal attention, some more then others however we can't dedicate all of our instructors time to one younger child. Approximately one hour of our day will be outdoors so the kids can get some fresh air for snack time. Locations will include splash pad fun, all our kids play park, fairy lake scavenger hunts and walks. Parents will have to sign a wavier the first day of camp, outdoor attendance is mandatory. *Please bring your own nut free snack/meal, reusable water bottle, bathing suit and sunscreen. Encase of rain we will eat inside and play some fun games or crafts.
