Tentacle Soup Mug Clay Class

INCLUDES: • 2-2:30 hours of sculpture time • Dedicated instructor & materials • 2 kiln firings ( one for solidifying shape, another for painting/ clear food safe glaze) • Second painting trip during our open studio hours ( approximately 2-3 hours) During your class you'll learn the basics of working with clay, slab rolling and attaching clay embellishments. After your done hand-building your clay piece, your mug will be left to dry for two weeks and then ready to be kiln baked, we'll call you as soon as they're ready for painting! That's right this includes a second painting trip to the studio, making your bowl that much more special. After painting, leave it to be baked a final time to a glazed food safe finish. Clay Workshop Notice: Kiln clay explosions are unlikely but they do happen. In the event of a clay piece being damaged due to a kiln explosion, we are happy to provide an opportunity to come in and remake your art piece, you have 35 days to rebook after notification after that it will be invalid. Refunds are not provided for damaged clay due to kiln explosions. Please note each artist is responsible for ensuring pieces are securely attached and follow the necessary steps in order to avoid detached clay elements and air pockets. Main Ideas is not responsible for repair or replacement to clay pieces. COVID GUIDELINES: Participants that are in the same social bubble will be sitting together and required to wear a mask. All materials will be on the table except for the clay which will be handled safely by the instructor.
GENERAL POLICY: General bookings are non refundable and may turn into walk-in painting store credit if you're not able to attend. Your store credit will be good for 6 months from the date of your scheduled event, after that it will expire. WORKSHOP CANCELLATIONS: you may cancel your spot with a 48 hr notice, your deposit amount will turn into store credit that can be used anytime for walk-in painting or you may reschedule another possible class, your credit will be valid for up to one year. If you reschedule for a class and if cancelled a second time your deposit will be invalid going forward. We appreciate a 48hr notice to avoid any unnecessary set up, if we are not notified your credit will be invalid. LATE FOR A WORKSHOP: We start our classes on time, so please don’t be late. We understand that sometimes there are unforeseeable issues. These things happen. Do try your best to not disturb the class any further once you have arrived. If you are 5-10 minutes late to a workshop it makes it really hard on the instructor and the class. Please avoid this by arriving 5-10 minutes early. The classroom itself will open up 5 minutes before the start of the class so you have time to grab an apron and settle in. If you are more than 15 minutes late to a workshop you are just not going to have enough time to complete the necessary steps in the project and you may not be able to join in. Understand that we cannot offer a refund or credit if you are late and unable to join the class. We require 48 hours notice for any cancellations and transfers and could have had another artist in your place. Thank you for your understanding.
